Feel

Just as your body language and speaking voice convey your mood to others when you communicate, the volume and placement of your notes alters the way your playing "feels" when you drum.  When you have an emotion it takes your playing in the direction you are feeling and conveys it to the listener. If the feel is definite and clear enough it can be recognized and shared by everyone in the room, making a greater experience for you, the players, and the audience.

Some things to discuss:

 - How feelings translate to your playing, and how to utilize that information?

 - How to find the appropriate feel for the song?

 - How to stay in the feel for the duration of the song?

 - How to play "sad/happy/excited/hopeless/etc..." without changing the tempo?
